DENTIST

Marivic De Leon-Balitaan, DMD, MPH

Dr. Marivic (Mar) De Leon was born and raised in the Bay Area, CA. Dr. Mar studied Biology and English at Loyola University Chicago before earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Roseman University in Utah.

Dr. Mar completed her three year pediatric dental residency training at the University of California-San Francisco (UCSF), where she simultaneously earned her Master of Public Health degree. Her training included advanced experience in behavior management, restorative and surgical dentistry, oral sedation, hospital dentistry, dental trauma, and phase 1 orthodontics. She has a strong background in working with patients with special needs, complex medical conditions, and craniofacial anomalies. During her time at UCSF, Dr. Mar’s grant-funded research on diagnosing and treatment planning supernumerary teeth in children earned third place in a statewide competition. She served as chief resident in her final year of the program.

Her passion for dentistry extends beyond the office–most recently joining a mission trip in Manila, Philippines. Dr. Mar loves working with kids of all ages and backgrounds, and focuses on making every visit a fun and comfortable experience. You’ll often find her singing with her patients while rocking one of her many fun, cartoon-themed scrub caps! She thoroughly enjoys partnering with families to support healthy habits through hygiene and diet, and takes a personalized approach to care that meets each child’s unique needs.

Outside of work, Dr. Mar loves watching sports, going to concerts, running, cooking, and exploring new places. She is excited to work with your family in building happy, healthy smiles!
